Oxidation is a natural process that begins once you remove the plastic from your new mat. Therefore, it is important to remove the paper label at the same time, otherwise a color difference may appear if removed later. Oxidation does not affect the mat’s performance, such as grip, but mainly means that the color may fade or change over time.
